Published prices, with the revisions counted
A logo suite, a brochure, a packaging set. Each carries a fixed price on our rate card, states how many revision rounds are included, and says what a further round costs. Nothing is quoted by guessing what you can afford.
How we actually operate
Look at what you need and what it costs before contacting anybody. If your project does not fit the card, we will price it and tell you how we arrived at the figure.
Creative work with the price on it
Granite Works Co works with businesses across Wisconsin on brand and design. Every deliverable has a published price, a stated number of included revision rounds, and a stated cost for going beyond them.
Brand Identity
Logo suite, colour, typography and a guidelines document, at a published price with three revision rounds included and a stated cost for each further round.
Packaging Design
Pack design through to print-ready artwork, priced per SKU with the die line and print specification work stated separately rather than hidden inside the design fee.
Print Collateral
Brochures, sell sheets and catalogues priced by page count, so a longer document costs more in a way you can predict before commissioning it.
Web Design
Page design priced by template rather than by site, so adding a page type is a known cost and reusing one is free.
Brand Development
Positioning and messaging work priced as a fixed engagement, sold standalone so you can take the strategy to any studio including one that is not us.
Retained Design Support
A monthly allocation of design time at a published day rate, with unused time reported and carried rather than quietly absorbed.
Creative pricing is decided by what the client looks like they can pay
Creative pricing is decided by what the client looks like they can pay
Two businesses ask the same studio for a logo and guidelines. One is a manufacturer with three hundred staff and the other is a family firm with nine. The work is identical. The quotes are not, and neither client will ever know.
The practice is called value-based pricing and it is entirely normal. It is defended on the grounds that the work is worth more to a larger business, which is arguable, and it means the price depends on the buyer rather than on the job.

Published rate card
Revisions are the other opaque part. Most proposals do not state how many rounds are included, which means the boundary is discovered during the project at the point when raising it is most awkward.
So we publish a rate card. Each deliverable has a price, an included number of revision rounds and a cost for further rounds. The manufacturer and the family firm pay the same thing for the same work.
- Further rounds priced
- Same price for every client
Same price, every client
Source files on completion. Layered working files rather than exported assets, so another studio can continue the work without rebuilding it.
Fonts licensed in your name, purchased for you rather than held under a studio licence that stops working when we part.
- Source files transferred
How a project runs
Five stages, and you know the price before stage one.
Pick from the rate card
The deliverable, its price and the included revision rounds are published. If what you need is not on the card, we price it and explain how we arrived at the figure.
Brief
A working session establishing what the piece has to do and who it speaks to. Included in the deliverable price rather than charged as discovery.
First presentation
Concepts presented with the reasoning behind each. This is round one of the included rounds and we say so plainly.
Revisions, counted
Each round is confirmed in writing as it begins, so you always know which round you are on and how many remain.
Production and handover
Print-ready artwork or developer handover, plus layered source files and typeface licences in your name.
What people say
The price was on their website before we called. We had spent six weeks getting quotes from studios who would not name a figure without a discovery meeting.
Owner, Wisconsin food producerWe went to a fourth revision round and paid the stated amount. There was no argument because the number had been published since the start.

Is the rate card really the price?
Yes, for everything on it, regardless of your size. Work that falls outside the card is priced individually and we explain how we reached the figure.
How many revision rounds are included?
It varies by deliverable and is stated on the card. Identity work includes three; print collateral includes two. Further rounds carry a published price.
What counts as a round?
A consolidated set of feedback from your side, responded to in full. We confirm in writing when a round begins, so the count is never disputed.
Why not price by value?
Because it means the same work costs different clients different amounts based on what they appear able to pay, and the buyer has no way to know.
Who owns the source files?
You do, on completion, layered and editable, with typeface licences purchased in your name.
Are print costs included?
No. We prepare artwork to specification and liaise with the printer; the printer invoices you directly at their own price.
